AbstractThe objective of this work was to use remote sensing techniques and Geographical Information System (GIS) to monitor corn crop fields during the 2002 winter crop growing season, in the region of Assis in São Paulo State. Corn fields were monitored through both visual analysis and temporal trend of the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) using six Landsat images acquired along the crop growing cycle.
